Institute of Directors Annual Awards: Leicestershire Winners

Leicestershire directors were recognised at the Institute of Directors (IoD) East Midlands Director of the Year awards.

They took place at a presentation lunch hosted by BBC East Midlands presenter Dominic Heale at Nottingham Trent University.

Best small business award went to Cuan Forrest, managing director of Ellipse Energy, in Leicester's Dock, while the medium sized business award went to Shahid Sheikh, managing director of Clifton Packaging in Meridian Business Park.

Clifton, which makes flexible packs for many UK food brands, was recently named company of the year at the Leicester Mercury Business Awards.

Marc Wileman, director of children's science party business Sublime Science, in Enderby, was young director of the year.

Mark Esho, managing director of Easy Internet Services, Whetstone, was highly commended in the small business category and Simon Gray, managing director of business support company Pembridge Gray, of Castle Donington, was highly commended in the non-executive section.

An individual impact special award was given to Emma Hallam, founder and director of Alex's Wish, Rothley, a charity funding research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Winners go on to the IoD's national awards at the Lancaster London Hotel, on October 21.
