Family business invested for the future and saw further growth

Clifton Packaging Group, established 1981

Family-run business, Clifton Packaging Group, which supplies solutions to customers across the food industry, invested several million pounds in new equipment to increase print capacity and offer faster lead times.

Its equipment comprised a Flexotecnica EVO XG HD FLEXO print press and the latest Uteco Crystal HD Flexo press which have the ability to print up to eight colours in high definition and boast ink management control system and a 100% camera inspection systems.

Another recent investment came in the form of a new Nordmeccanica Super Combi laminator, offering one-colour gravure printing, cold-seal coating, gloss-matt lacquering in register and solvent-based lamination. This is alongside the new top of the range Comexi S1 DT slitter capable of a speed of 800metres/minute.

Ovenable Films were amongst the company’s new developments and innovations in 2015, which was a record turnover year, seeing a 33% growth for the company.

Some highly innovative products have been developed in partnership with major branded companies and supply lines were opened to new European customers.

This year, more investments are being planned for the company’s 35th anniversary and it is looking into securing additional premises to manage future growth plans. Further investments in new equipment are also in the pipeline for the next 12 months.
